GRONK ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT AT AGE 29

by admin_vsao
Rob Gronkowski, the greatest TE of this generation and possibly of all time, has announced his retirement from the NFL after nine seasons. Gronkowski, also one of the most colorful personalities in the NFL, made the announcement through and Instagram post late Sunday night.
Gronkowski was a second-round draft pick of New England out of Arizona and immediately established himself as the most dominant player at the position. In 115 regular season games, “Gronk” had 521 catches for 7861 yards. In 16 playoff games, Gronkowski had 81 catches for 1163 yards and 12 touchdowns, all NFL records. A three-time world champion, Gronkowki had 79 regular season touchdowns including five years of 10 or more touchdowns, also a NFL record for tight ends.
At 6’7″ and 260 pounds, Gronkowski was also a tremendous blocking tight end and a matchup nightmare for opposing secondaries. Gronkowski is a surefire Hall of Famer and only the injuries that plagues him throughout his career and ultimately shortened his career cold keep him from being a first ballot choice.
