The Philadelphia Eagles may have found the solution to their running back woes by acquiring Jordan Thomas from the Bears for a sixth-round draft pick in 2020. Thomas is just two years removed from back-to-back 1000 yards seasons and saw his playing time dwindle under the offense of new head coach Matt Nagy. With the emergence of Tarik Chen and the signing of Mike Davis from Seattle in the off season, Howard became pretty much expendable.
Howard represents a big upgrade in an Eagle backfield that struggled to produce after Jay Ajayi went down with a season ending injury. Though not a huge receiving threat out of the backfield, Howard still has a huge upside at only 24 and will provide a solid cost effective option on early downs.
