OKLAHOMA at TCU, WHERE DOES THE BIG 12 GO FROM HERE ???
Oklahoma and TCU strap it up in a game that will go a long way in not only determining the winner of the Big 12 but also have a say in determining the destiny of the conference in terms of the FBS playoffs. Both teams took bad non-conference losses early and with no conference championship game in place and other conference heavies like Okie State already having lost, it’s highly unlikely that a one or two loss team out of the Big 12 will get a FBS playoff bid.
The line opened with the Sooners as -1 point favorites and the total 68 1/2. A flood of Oklahoma money and the over has sent the number to it’s current high water mark of Oklahoma -3.5 and the total 69.5 and headed North. Weather should be perfect in Fort Worth with the temperature at kickoff expected in the mid-70s with no precipitation or wind in the forecast. The game is a time change to 5:00 PM EST so it can be carried live on Fox.
There is plenty of blame to go around for the Sooners slow start. The defense in ranked No.78 in the country giving up better than 400+ yards a game including 150 ypg. on the ground. The loaded offense is just No.33 nationally which could be in part from the Sooners constantly having to play from behind. Mixon/Perrine is arguably the best back tandem in the country but neither has gotten off to this point. Baker Mayfield has numbers that haven’t translated to wins.
Texas A&M castoff Kenny “Trill” Hill has led the Horn Frogs through the post Trevor Boykin era with generally good results but his big numbers are offset by four picks and a throat slashing penaltythat pretty that contributed to the loss to Arkansas. The TCU defense has always been a question mark and this year it’s stopping the pass where they are allowing 254 yards-per-game, good for No.88 nationally.
Oklahoma has had an extra week to prepare off their spanking at the hands of Ohio State. TCU was beaten by the only good team it’s played and could be outmanned here. Oklahoma is 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS in the series since the Frogs joined the Big 12 but the last three games have been ultra competitive being decided by 1, 3, and 4 points. It is unclear at this point whether this game will make World Champion handicapper Jeff Allen’s executive service but all Jeff Allen internet releases are available on his home site of www.vegasscoresandodds.com much in advance.
