JEFF ALLEN: CAN WISCONSIN TAKE DOWN THIRD TOP 10 OPPONENT ???
The 4-0 No.8 ranked Wisconsin Badgers look to take down their third Top 10 opponent in five weeks on Saturday when they travel to The Big House in Ann Arbor to take on the 4-0 No.4 ranked Michigan Wolverines. Both teams come off impressive victories, Wisconsin a 30-6 road spanking of Michigan State. The Wolverines are off a 49-10 beat down of Penn State on this field. The Badgers also own a win over LSU and will attempt to get their third Top 10 scalp here with a rare double of B2B road wins over the Michigan schools.
Michigan opened as -10.5 point favorite and the side has not moved as of this writing. The total has seen a ton of action on the under and the original opener of 48 is now down to just 44 1/2. Weather could be a factor in this one with thundershowers expected throughout the game with temperatures in the mid-60’s. Kickoff is at 3:30 PM
EST and will be shown on ABC.
Wisconsin has gotten to this point thanks to a stingy rush defense that allows just a tick more than 80 ypg. Wisky has also settled on a quarterback choosing redshirt freshman Alex Hornibrook over the more experienced Bart Houston. Hornibrook is the more accurate passer of the two and while his throws were more of the dump off
variety vs. Michigan State, he may be asked to go down field more here. The Badgers have several players dinged including most of the secondary which bares watching closer to game time.
The Wolverines have also done it on the defensive end. checking in at No.12 against the pass and No.11 in total defense. Safety/CB Jabrill Peppers could be the best player on the field and has drawn comparisons to the “Honey Badger” Tyrann Mathieu. He is a consensus top five pick in every early 2017 mock draft. The Michigan
offense is almost perfectly balanced averaging 230 yards rushing and 238 yards passing to rank No.40 overall nationally. The carries are done by committee with four backs having 145+ yards.
This is the first meeting between these two teams since 2010 with the home team owning a 6-1 edge since 2003. Wisconsin is 10-1 straight up with suitcase under Chryst and 3-0 as a road dog. Michigan has been nearly flawless to this point with just turnovers in 287 snaps so the Badgers can’t expect the favors they received
at Michigan State. To get this and all of World Champion handicapper Jeff Allen’s internet releases please visit www.vegasscoresandodds.com, Jeff Allen’s home site.
