JEFF ALLEN GAME PREVIEW: GEORGIA at OLE MISS

Saturday’s 12:00 noon EST action kicks off with an SEC feature matchup between Georgia and Ole Miss.
The Bulldogs are 3-0 under new head coach Kirby Smart but have used up three of their nine lives that
last 21 days with escapes vs. North Carolina, Nicholls State and Missouri. With two losses (to Alabama
and Florida State) sandwiched around a win over Wofford, you could say the Rebs season is over almost
before it has begun. Hugh Freeze is made of sterner stuff however and will have his team ready to play as
Ole Miss looks to do it’s best to salvage the season.

Based on the number, Ole Miss has not dropped in esteem in the minds of Las Vegas or the public opening
up as a -7 point favorite, moving to -7.5 and then finally settling on -7 as of this writing. The total has been all
over the place opening at 61.5 before dropping as low as 58.5 and then skyrocketing to it’s current 62. It’s
going to be hot and humid in Oxford under sunny skies with the temperature at game time expected to be near
90.

Georgia has been average at best through three games and their starts reflect that as the Bulldogs are ranked
mid-pack on both sides of the ball in the FBS. The offense has been the biggest offender and sits No.66
nationally. They do start a true freshman quarterback and stud RB Nick Chubb has been solid with 365 yards
at 5.1 per carry. The defense has been staunch when it’s mattered but will need to raise it’s game if the Bulldogs
are going to be a factor in the SEC.

There’s no shame losing to Florida State and Alabama but that’s what will happen when you can’t stop the run
and allow better than 247 ypg. (115th) on the ground. The once feared “Landshark D” is just 61st against the
pass and ranked No.110 in the FBS overall. The Rebels are also No.112 rushing the football themselves which
is likely the product of always having to play from behind. QB Chad Kelly is having a big year with 10 touchdowns
and 953 yards passing through three games but with no signature wins as of yet.

The teams haven’t played since 2012 when Georgia spanked Ole Miss 37-10. The Bulldogs have won 10
straight in the series. There are just so many reasons to pass both the side and total of this game including
Georgia being outgained by 150 yards with three minutes left vs. Mizzou. Five turnovers did in the Tigers in.
In three games, Ole Miss has become the first power five team in a decade to blow two 21 point leads in the
same season. Visit www.vegasscoresandodds.com for all of World Champion handicapper for updates and
