JEFF ALLEN GAME PREVIEW: OREGON at NEBRASKA

JEFF ALLEN GAMEĀ  PREVIEW: OREGON at NEBRASKA

After a very pedestrian schedule in Week Two of college football, the hits just keep on coming in Week
Three including a marquee prime time Pac 12/Big Ten matchup between the No.22 ranked Oregon Ducks
and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Both teams are 2-0 but were not all that impressive in beating soft touches
to start the season. Oregon entered 2016 in somewhat of a rebuilding mode without a whole lot of big
expectations. Mike Riley is poised for a breakout year in his second year in Lincoln and is very familiar with
the Ducks from his time at Oregon State.

There has been no line movement on this game as of this writing with Nebraska opening as a -3 point
favorite and the total 70 1/2. Money does appear to trickling in on the homestanding Huskers as there is a
-3.5 out there and several shoppes are now dealing -3 (-115). Weather is expected to be perfect in the mid-
70’s after three straight days of rain. Kickoff is at 3:30 EST on ABC.

This isn’t the same Oregon Duck squad we’ve been accustomed to in recent years. They have a new QB
is Dakota Prukop and a much more balanced offense 276/301 ypg.. rushing and passing. The scheme
still works as the Quack Attack is eighth nationally in total offense. Brady Hoke is the new DC in Eugene
and the stop unit is a work in progress and just 90th versus the pass.

Nebraska is a veteran outfit led by quarterback Tommy Armstrong. He’s Mike Riley’s first true dual threat QB
and can hurt you a number of ways. The defense and special teams are standard “Blackshirt” tough and
the Hiusker special teams are excellent. Nebraska hammered to cupcakes but won the fourth quarters by
a combined 50-0 so the Huskers are yet to play a complete game.

This is an interesting game that we believe Vegas has right on the money. Not very interested in laying points
against a Helfrich squad that is 9-1 (Michigan State) straight up in it’s last nine road games and a perfect 5-0
since 2011 as a road dog. Follow World Champion Handicapper Jeff Allen on twitter and his home site of
