JEFF ALLEN GAME PREVIEW: PHILADELPHIA at DALLAS

Tonight’s feature game on Sunday Night football showcases a NFC East showdown between the 4-2 Philadelphia
Eagles and the 5-1 Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles stopped a two-game skid with a dominating win over the previously
unbeaten Minnesota Vikings. Dallas is fresh off the their bye and rides five-game SU and ATS win streak into the game. The league’s top three rookies … Carson Wentz, Dak Prescott and Ezekial Elliot will all be on display in front of tonight’s prime time national TV audience.

The game opened with the Cowboys as -4 point favorites with the high/low set at 43 1/2. Dallas has taken the money
to this point and as of late Saturday night, the Cowboys are currently -5/5.5 depending on the house. There have been varying opinions on the total which was bet up to 44 but in the last 48 hours has fallen to 43. As always, multiple outs and the ability to shop in an important weapon in your betting arsenal. Weather is expected to be perfect with the game time temperature around 80 with a light breeze for the 8:30 PM EST kickoff on NBC. The roof is retractable at Jerry World should circumstances dictate.

Carson Wentz was the flavor of the month after leading the Eagles to three straight wins to start the season. His play in  the three games following Philly’s early bye week has been pedestrian at best however. The Eagles caught a perfect storm against Minnesota as the defense was able to create four turnovers and six sacks of Sam Bradford. Special teams chipped in with a 98-yard kickoff return. Wentz (1324, 63.8%, 8/3) will need to find his rythm against the suspect Dallas back seven to give Philadelphia a chance to win.

Dak Prescott has been a revelation since being picked in the fourth round of the April draft out of Mississippi State. Prescott was had always been thought of as a gamer but his stock dropped after a poorly timed DUI just before the draft. Ezekial  Elliot has justified the Pokes taking him with the fourth overall pick by leading the league in rushing behind the NFL’s best  offensive line. The rookie rushed for 140, 138, 134 and 157 yards in his four games before the break and has shown to  get stronger later into a game. Dez Bryant returns at wideout after missing a couple of games to injury. The defense has a  bend bit don’t break attitude that has kept Dallas is every game.

There are all kinds of techs that could be used for and against both teams in this spot. Philly is 3-0 as a dog this year and  owns a current 15-3 run as a NFC East road dog. The dog is 5-1 L6 of this series. The Cowboy’s home field woes (3-12 ATS L15) are well documented but this is a completely different team. Dallas is 8-3 ATS out of their L11 byes and the Pokes two  best players in the secondary Scandrick and Claibourne should also be back at near 100%. Lean to the Cowboys on this one but Jeff Allen’s offiicial play on the game can be found on his home site of www.vegasscoresandodds.com
