The New Orleans Saints are one of the most successful teams in the NFL since Sean Payton took over in 2006 and at home, their impressive 51-22 straight-up record earns the team points with football odds makers in 90-percent of their games. The Saints have hit a few rough patches this season, losing back-to-back games in three separate occasions and they come into this week’s contest with a 4-6 SU record but that hasn’t deterred online sportsbooks from making the Saints a 3-point favorite against the 6-4 Baltimore Ravens.
The Saints are 8-18-3 ATS at home off a home loss but they do have a 9-5 ATS record on Monday night. As far as Monday Night Football betting systems go, there are a few more things to consider with this contest. First we look at the Saints’ sub-.500 record and see that Monday home teams off a loss are just 9-17 ATS. When last week’s loss was also at home these teams are 1-3 SU/ATS and when the team has lost two-straight they are only 3-13 SU and 5-11 ATS.
Of the five winners, three were catching a team off a win and two of those three games were decided by three points. The full record for our road teams off a ‘W’ still favors the road team at 9-3 ATS and when the line is within 3.5 points of pick, the road squad has averaged 28 points per game going 5-1 SU/ATS.
New Orleans looked out of sync in last week’s loss to the Bengals and if they suddenly click, the Saints are bound to put points on the board but Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham do not play defense and Rob Ryan’s underachieving group may have their hands full against a rested Ravens team.
